ENHYPEN

About

Enhypen (Korean: 엔하이픈; RR: Enhaipeun; Japanese: エンハイプン; Enhaipun; stylized as ENHYPEN) is a South Korean boy band formed by Belift Lab, a joint venture between CJ ENM and Hybe Corporation,[3] through the 2020 survival competition show I-Land. The group is composed of seven members: Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon, and Ni-ki. They debuted on November 30, 2020, with the extended play (EP) Border: Day One. The members have already shown infinite possibilities and growth not only as individuals, but also as a team. Similar to the ‘hyphen(-)’ that connects one word to another, ENHYPEN means that seven different boys connect to discover one another and grow together. It also indicates their ambitious plan to connect people and the world through their music.

Fandom

Just like the pronunciation of 'engine' , it contains the meaning of the power (engine) that makes ENHYPEN always grow and move forward, and the GENE of ENHYPEN, that is, to connect/discover/grow together with the same genes . A fandom name contest was held from September 20th to 24th, 2020. On October 9, 2020, the fandom name ENGENE, chosen by the members themselves, was revealed.
